Nordic Walking Association of North America (NWANA)

NORDIC WALKING FEDERATION DEVELOPMENT IN THE UNITED STATES AND ACROSS NORTH AMERICA

NWANA is a U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization developing the federation-level structure for Nordic Walking in the United States and across North America.

We build the official systems needed for education, licenses, NW Groups, competitions, health and community programs, sport integrity, and long-term public benefit.

This site explains who NWANA is and why the system matters. The Federation Hub connects people to the working systems: challenges, competitions, licenses, NW Groups, academy training, events, results, support funds, partners, and sponsors.

WHAT NWANA BUILDS

NWANA is not a local walking club or a single event organizer. NWANA is building the federation-level structure that allows Nordic Walking to grow responsibly in the United States and across North America.

The work is organized around five core systems.

EDUCATION

Training instructors, coaches, judges, leaders, event organizers, and staff through NW Academy and related development programs.

LICENSES

Issuing role-based NWANA licenses for athletes, instructors, NW Group leaders, event directors, judges, officials, and other approved roles.

NW GROUPS

Helping local Nordic Walking groups form, organize, communicate, and connect with NWANA programs and events.

COMPETITIONS

Developing challenges, events, categories, results, rankings, stages, and future championship-style pathways.

HEALTH & COMMUNITY

Supporting safe movement, active aging, mobility, community wellness, and public-benefit Nordic Walking programs.

PUBLIC BENEFIT

Using education, standards, local formation, events, and partnerships to make Nordic Walking more accessible and organized.
